Well the fact that it has taken this long has been an embarrassment. Although Dad Man Trading is a hobby business, aimed at providing THIS disabled guy something to do, while raising a little money to contribute to community events and fun days my family and I like to put together.
Which is why it shouldn’t have taken this long. Well before Dad Man I spent 20-years as a Website Developer, working with clients, personal sites, community websites and even for some decent sized businesses – recently I have been a little ill, a couple hospital trips, almost countless doses of antibiotics – which has kept me away from my actual work station and in our Headquarters where the printers are in operation.
Going through setting up new things to print or finding the next cool thing to try to print wasn’t at the top of my mind. However, relaxing in the room, and being restricted to just working on my laptop as I have been over the past couple of weeks has meant my hands were kind of tied with what I could and couldn’t work on.
One thing I discovered I could work on… my website right here at Dad Man Trading. Geez if you know the in’s and out’s of a website you would know just how diabolical my website truly was. Which is why when I was having my good days I made sure that I was at least tapping around to make this site better for you all (and fit more with industry standards).
This little bit of a Blog Post is designed to give you some insights into the cool new things you can now find on our website, and some of the enhancements I have made to make your time browsing just that little bit better.
FEATURED CATEGORIES
While I admit I spend a lot of time browsing the offerings of the talented designers around the world, while I was browsing through the website I realised there were some very popular categories that we had when it came to products that the generic listings for them didn’t seem to do them justice.
Which is why one of the first orders of business was to get in and create some pages for our featured products to help them stand out and display more of those options to you when browsing the website.
As we continue to grow, print products and add them to the website some other pages may be created but in the meantime some of these pages include our Blob Land, Dinosaurs, Dragons, and Spooky Corner.
These changes not only make the site look better, however they now highlight more of our offerings that fall within those popular categories.
GIFT CARDS
Dad Man Trading have also introduced a whole new Gift Cards section to our website.
The Gift Cards are sorted by occasion, we are still working on some of the designs, and can be purchased in both pre-set amounts or custom amounts. You get to pick the day/time the Gift Card is sent – either immediately or one a specified day.
Plus you are able to check your Gift Card Balances from two handy locations; one link is located in our website footer, while in your Account link at the top of the website there is another link to check balances.
BUY FOR ME
One of our hot new features is our BUY FOR ME. See something you want but don’t want to pay for it? Maybe you want to give someone a little prompt as to what you are wanting for an upcoming gift? Well Dad Man Trading now has you covered with our brand new BUY FOR ME option.
When browsing around on our website, once you find something you like a button will appear “BUY THIS FOR ME”. Clicking that button will allow you to type in the email address of someone you are hoping will buy the item for you.
Once you click send, just sit back and cross your fingers as the e-mail is dispatched with a link to the product you like – it even remembers your options if it is a variable product.
WISH LIST
Who doesn’t like window shopping? It’s an in-expensive, expensive shopping trip that leaves you nothing out of pocket but also nothing new. Dad Man Trading have created our Wish List plugin for our website here that will now allow you to do all the window shopping you want… and possibly eventually take the leap to purchasing one day.
You see the Wishlist function here on Dad Man Trading allows you to have multiple wish lists, separate your shopping by occasion, by child, by category – however you want, name them all so you know where to add the latest product to be added.
An even greater addition to our Wishlist function is the ability to share your Wishlist. This means that you can stock up that wishlist for your Birthday or Christmas and share it with everyone to do your shopping for you.
REVIEWS
Reviews are important not just for businesses but for potential customers. With so many websites deliberately established to mislead, reviews offering honest feedback can help potential customers looking for bargain prices know that we are legitimate.
Since we began operating we have received over 250+ 5* reviews across all of our selling platforms, that is something we are proud of and therefore have added Trust Index to our website. This not only allows us to proudly display our reviews, but hopefully encourage recent customers of ours to add to them.
CONCLUSION
While there were many other cosmetic changes, and other things added to our website this effectively covers the bigger changes of what has been happening around here at Dad Man Trading. With a little luck I will be back on board properly and we will be seeing some awesome new, exciting products being added soon.
